Kenya African Safaris Guide
Kenya an amazing country found in East Africa. It has some of the best African safaris from Luxury Safaris to camping safaris, and I’m not just saying that cause I am from there, but once you have vacationed and traveled and experienced it for yourself, you’ll be back for more safari tours. There are many place in Kenya that you could go for an all out adventure safari. Few of the places listed have some of the best wildlife you could see in Africa.
- Amboseli
- Lake Nakuru National Park
- Lake Naivasha National Park
- Masai Mara
- Tsavo National Park
- Samburu
- Tree Tops
- Mount Kenya Safari Club
- Lake Turkana formerly known as Lake Rudolf
These are the few big spots in Kenya that anyone visiting should try and make it to two or three of them. So what would you expect to do on one of these safaris? Well the dictionary definition of safari is “a journey across a stretch of land, especially in Africa, for the purpose of hunting or observing wild animals.” OK the hunting part is kinda wrong, that used to happen years ago and now with some of the animal facing extinction, hunting is banned in Kenya, well for that matter in most of Africa.
On a safari what would you expect to see, well, something called the Big Five:
- Lion
- Leopard
- Elephant
- Rhino
- Buffalo
Along with the big five there’s also all the others; Giraffes, Zebras, Gazelles, Ostrich, Cheetahs, Flamingos, and the list just goes on. Now don’t be fooled, just cause you go to Kenya on a trip and take a safari, that doesn’t mean you will definitely see the big five. Sometimes you get lucky sometime you don’t. But you will see lots of wildlife that’s for sure and if you go during the Kenya-Tanzania migration time, boy you’re in for a treat.
Each part of Kenya has it’s unique attributes that make it so amazing.
There are the Kenyan Mountain:
- Mount. Kenya,
- Mount Longonot,
- Mount Elgon.
The hills:
- Shimba Hills,
- Taita and Chyulu Hills, Loroghi Hills.
Kenyan Lakes:
- Lake Elementeita
- Lake Nakuru Flamingos
- Lake Nakuru
- Lake Naivasha
- Lake Baringo
- Lake Bogoria
- Lake Victoria
- Lake Turkana
- Lake Magadi
Kenyan Forests:
- Mount Kenya Forest
- Aberdare Forest
- Kakamega Forest
- Arabuko Sokoke Forest
Kenya also has deserts:
- Marsabit
- Maralal
That’s a lot of different places that you could go for a safari and see the wildlife. But if safaris and wildlife are not on your cup of tea, no worries. Kenya has one of the most amazing coast-lines in Africa, that has some great resorts to visit. These beaches and resorts are located in:
- Mombasa
- Malindi
- Lamu
Kenya’s capital Nairobi is a bustling city filled with great, night clubs and bars ( or as we like to call them “watering-holes”. Nairobi has so much to offer as a city for tourist, that I feel its deserving of a page on its own.
So by now I’m hoping that I have managed to spark an intrest to go on an African Safari in Kenya.
